Aeon Flux the movie is somewhat based on the Liquid Television shorts and the cartoon that aired on MTV years ago. Peter Chung developed the cartoon. Peter Chung worked on other cartoons, such as Rug Rats and Reign: The Conquer. Charlize Theron plays aeon Flux, a sexy futuristic spy. Aeon Flux was originally supposed to be played by Michelle Rodiguez from Girl Fight and Resident Evil. Johnny Lee Miller from Hackers (one of the greatest movies ever made) plays the main villain Oren Goodchild, who is not from the original cartoon. Overall this movie was a fun watch, but it had its fair share of problems.

The problem I had with this movie was that Aeon Flux had a conscience. The original Aeon Flux was a heartless assassin, who only cared about others when it benefited herself. Aeon Flux is not supposed to take sides. In the Aeon Flux universe, the concepts of good and evil are tightly intermingled. Trevor Goodchild, played by Marton Csokas, was a good guy in the movie. Trevor Goodchild from the cartoon was a narcissistic megalomaniac who's only desire was to control others. Trevor Goodchild was both a scientist in the movie, as well, as the cartoon. The romance between Trevor Goodchild and Aeon Flux are also both in the cartoon and movie. The romance in the cartoon took a more dominating presence, since it represented a fictionalized relationship between an over dominating boyfriend and a feministic vixen.

I Give this movie a 7.4 out of 10 (C Grade)
