Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (2005)
Directed by Tim Burton

This film is the remake to the classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in which
both of these movies were based on a book. I liked Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory better, but it lacked a few things that the original movie had, for
example the original had more color and a creepier boat ride. A brilliant
performance done by Johnny Depp, who played Willy Wonka in the new movie.
Johnny Depp also got shot in the throat in Oliver Stone's movie, Platoon.
Oliver Stone has nothing to do with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but
if he did I am sure that the movie would have more heads exploding and Tony
Todd. Danny Elfman did the vocals of the Oompa Loompas. You can't have a Tim
Burton movie, without the creepy sound of Danny Elfman. The Oompa Loompas
were played by one person named Deep Roy (the name sounds like a title of a
porn movie). Charlie Bucket, who is played by Freddie Highmore, is a cold
and boring character in this version. I cared not for this child called
Charlie Bucket and I am glad that he didn't have that many speaking roles in
this film. I thought this movie was too creepy for children, but the theater
I went to was jammed packed with kids, so what the hell do I know. Despite
the bland Charlie Character, I did enjoy this movie and I am giving it an 8
out of 10.
