The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)
Rated PG in Singapore

This is a story based on the true events of an exorcism that happened to a
young german girl named Anneliese Michel in the 1970s. In the movie, the
girl's name was changed to the fictional character Emily Rose (played by the
very sexy Jennifer Carpenter, who also played Lisa in the movie White
Chicks). A priest is accused of murder when a teenage girl is dead from a
failed exorcism. The priest is defended by Erin Brunen, played by the very
untalented Laura Linney. I liked the movies creepy atmosphere and the dual
nature of beliefs, such as the events that happened in the spiritual world
compared to what happened in the pragmatic world (or some might call it the
real world). Sorry Roger Ebert, but I liked this movie more than the
Exorcist, because it seemed more realistic and had no vomit. I give this
movie a solid B.
